PARADISE CIRCUS is a dubstep duo from Edinburgh, Scotland, formed in January 2011. James Gray and Lewis Jones who make up the group have said that some of their influences are Danny Byrd and Nero.
After listening to some of their work on soundcloud and youtube, I like the ‘chill out’ essence of their music - it’s good to listen to if you want to listen to dubstep thats not too hardcore. It’s nice and mellow and it was really refreshing to listen to after a hard day at work! I can also hear some influences from the early roots of the dubstep genre, and I can relate their sound to being similar to Burial. Other points to mention is that I really like their drum beats and melody lines - I can hear some cool effects on the piano in ‘The Funeral’ remix.
Paradise Circus are also due to release an EP either at the end of the month or early July. It will available as a free digital download.
